LAHORE: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab and Punjab University (PU), Lahore was inked on Monday. PDMA Director Dr Khurram Shehzad and Department of Social Work Head Dr Zahid Javaid signed the MoU.

The purpose of the MoU was to establish collaborative arrangements between both the parties to cooperate and coordinate in areas of mutually beneficial activities. The arrangement will cover a wide range of subjects relating but not limited to intra, inter and multidisciplinary research.

According to this MoU, the scope of cooperation between both the parties include carrying out joint research, disseminating research and analysis including mutual publication in electronic and printed form and development of chapters on disaster management for inclusion in course curriculum of Punjab’s schools and colleges.

Both parties agreed to work in an open and transparent manner in order to implement the above activities.
