Pakistan railways introduces state-of-the-art rakes for new trains
LAHORE:
Pakistan Railways is introducing state-of-the-art rakes for two more trains after presenting 16 new upgraded train rakes under the Railways revival plan.
The spokesman said that upgraded rakes for 9-Up/10-Down Allama Iqbal Express train (running between Sialkot and Lahore) were almost ready whereas rakes for a railcar, to run between Rawalpindi and Kohat are also in the final process.
He said that when Khawaja Saad Rafique took charge as Railways minister, situation of the department was crucial and employees were uncertain about the future of the Railways. "Now the situation has changed as the trust of people and employees has been restored and a long journey of progress and revival of the department is under way," he added.
