Natural progression: Dr Mahmood to be new PIMS director

The incumbent Pims director, Dr Altaf Hussain, is set to retire on January 20

ISLAMABAD:
With the administrator of the largest tertiary care hospital in the capital set to retire later this month, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University has identified his immediate successor. In a notice issued on Thursday, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) said that Dr Raja Amjad Mahmood will take over administrative duties at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) Hospital. The incumbent Pims director, Dr Altaf Hussain, is set to retire on January 20. Dr Mahmood, an officer in basic pay scale grade (BPS)-20, is the senior-most joint executive director at Pims and will oversee administrative matters of the hospital and centres of Pims in a fortnight’s time.
