A minor child has gone missing in the garrison city of Rawalpindi, days after the rape and murder of eight-year-old Zainab shocked the nation who called for a halt to the rising incidents.

Fourteen-year-old Mehreen's mother approached the top court on Thursday against the disappearance of her daughter for the last three months, Express News reported.

According to the mother, Mehreen went missing from near her residence in Pirwadhai, Bangash Colony shortly after she was seen playing outside.

She also said the police had been resorting to delaying tactics to recover Mehreen. "I'm not being heard; I appeal the Supreme Court and the media to safe my girl."

Zainab's case has once again highlighted incidents of sexual assaults on girls.

Earlier today, body of a 16-year-old was found from an agricultural field in Bhalwal tehsil of Sargodha district.

S* had gone in the fields for daily lavatory needs in the morning, as is the norm in the rural areas of the country, where unidentified men strangled her to death after subjecting her to rape, said the victim’s father.

FAISAL BAJWA | 6 years ago | Reply I am Pakistani and I dont know why parents let their children go out by themselves. Please stop this as they will get raped and kidnapped. Nowhere are children safe. NEVER let your children out of your sight. My own brother was kidnapped when my mum let him out of her sight.
