KARACHI: A young man, hailing from Balochistan, was shot dead in an act of target killing in Defence Housing Authority on Tuesday. The victim's uncle, however, remained safe in the attack.

Police officials said the incident seemed to be over personal enmity.
A 19-year-old, Imran Buksh, who hailed from Balochistan was shot dead when armed assailants opened indiscriminate fire at his unregistered white coloured Parado on Khayaban-e-Roomi within the limits of the Sahil police station.

"Buksh was accompanied by his paternal uncle who arrived from Baluchistan for his medical treatment," said Sahil SHO Abid Soomro. "Buksh's father had gifted a new Parado to him. He took his uncle for a drive when the incident occurred."

Police officials said that the armed men and another suspicious vehicle attempted to stop him and opened indiscriminate fire when he sped his vehicle instead of stopping it.

He was shot at least twice while his uncle remained unhurt in the incident. The victim's uncle, however, immediately informed the family members and relatives, who reached the spot and shifted the victim to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medical treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries.

Police officials said that the incident occurred over personal enmity, adding that the victim's sister's in-laws, who also belong to Balochistan, were behind the incident while further investigation is under way.

The family of the victim didn't approach the police to register a case. The deceased was a resident of DHA. Police officials said that at least 18 bullet marks were found on the victim's vehicle.
