Armed thieves broke into a house in Westridge on late Friday night and looted cash, jewellery and other valuables at gunpoint. Khalid Masood lodged a report with the Westridge police that armed robbers broke into his house and looted Rs160,000 ,650 Pound Sterling, two cell phones, 18 carat jewellery and other valuables after tying his family with ropes.
Meanwhile, two men were injured as unidentified men fired gunshots in the same area. Muhammad Qadir lodged a report that four armed culprits forced themselves into his house and tried to loot valuables. When he and his father resisted the attempt, the robbers opened fire at them.
The police registered separate cases against unidentified thieves and began investigations.
In another incident, a passerby was killed after being hit by a speeding bike on Peshawar Road. The deceased, Javaid Ahmed from Lahore, was visiting his relatives in Rawalpindi.
