Three suspected criminals were arrested during targeted raids in the Garden and Memon Goth areas. They were identified as Sohail Saeed Siddiqui alias Sohail Tanki, Abdul Qadir and Faris. According to a Rangers spokesperson, the suspects arrested were involved in various cases of targeted killing and extortion.
Separately, three more suspects were arrested during targeted raids in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Awami Colony localities. The suspects arrested were identified as Ismail alias Lala, Saddam Hussain and Abdullah. According to the spokesperson, the suspects arrested were involved in drug peddling and the paramilitary force also recovered at least three kilogrammes of heroin from their possession. The arrested men were later handed over to the police and Anti-Narcotics Force.
Maritime authorities arrest 25 Indian fishermen
The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Sindh police also claimed on Tuesday to have arrested a notorious gangster. The suspect, identified as Najeeb alias Bao, was arrested during a raid conducted on a tip-off in the Pak Colony area. According to the SIU, he was associated with the Jasim Golden gang based in Lyari. SIU officials said that the accused had joined the gang in 2010 and since then he was involved in various cases of targeted killing, kidnapping and extortion.
The police also claimed to have recovered arms and ammunitions from his possession. Cases were registered against him while further investigations are under way.
