Officials urged to ensure arrangements to prevent flu

Minister says all hospitals should launch an awareness campaign

All the teachings, tehsil and district hospitals must ensure all arrangements for prevention and treatment of seasonal flu (H1, N1) across the province, said Provincial Minister for Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education (SHME) Khawaja Salman Rafique.

He was addressing a meeting held to discuss monitoring of seasonal flu in all districts of Punjab. The minister said that all the hospitals should launch an awareness campaign for prevention of seasonal flu. He said that all district health authorities and medical superintendents of teaching hospitals should submit seasonal flu monitoring report on daily basis.

He instructed that all doctors, nurses and hospital staff should adopt preventive measures during treatment of the patients so that the virus could not transfer to other people.

Rafique directed all the MSs and CEOs to ensure the availability of Tamiflu in sufficient quantity for timely treatment of the patient.


The officers of the health department briefed the minister on the overall situation of seasonal flu in Punjab.

Facilities ordered for Sehwan health institute's uplift

Secretary for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Ali Jan Khan said that department had issued prevention guidelines for seasonal flu to all the district health authorities and they were taking every possible step in this regard.

Secretary Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Najam Ahmed Shah,Director General Healthcare Dr. Akhtar Rasheed, officers of the health department attended the meeting.
