Conference questions: JI barred from holding conference

Ameer JI Sialkot Hafiz Tahir Aslam strongly criticiseS the district administration of Sialkot.

SIALKOT:
The district administration of Sialkot has not allowed the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) to hold its national `Azam-e-Inqlaab Conference’ at the Govt Murray College Ground Sialkot on May 1, 2011.

District administration officials claimed that JI had been asked not to hold the conference because of the mounting opposition by various local students organisations in the district.

Meanwhile, former MPA Arshad Mehmood Baggu and Ameer JI Sialkot Hafiz Tahir Aslam have strongly criticised the district administration of Sialkot for not allowing JI to hold the conference as scheduled.

They said that the JI will hold its conference at Murray College Ground at all costs, saying that all the necessary arrangements had been completed in this regard and a total of 8,000 to 10,000 JI workers were expected to attend.
