This was stressed by speakers at a provincial conference on strengthening humanitarian coordination mechanisms in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), organised by the National Humanitarian Network (NHN) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Fata chapter on Thursday.
‘Employers should respect womens’ rights’
They suggested that humanitarian organizations, which have deep roots in the communities, should be engaged to contribute to the system.
A large number of stakeholders of the region including officials from the government, United Nations, local and international organizations, representatives participated in the conference.
Abdul Basit, the relief director from the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), deliberated on the existing coordination mechanism and efforts made by the government to strengthen the system and expected changes in the wake of cluster transition.
