Shah Mehmood Qureshi takes a jab at the PPP
Accuses party of destroying Sindh’s education, health sectors
HYDERABAD:
As public mobilisation by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Sindh continues unprecedentedly, the party's vice-chairperson Shah Mehmood Qureshi took on the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in Tharparkar district on Saturday. Speaking at a public meeting in Chachro, Qureshi denounced the PPP's Sindh government for destroying education, health and other sectors oriented towards service of the people.
He assured supporters that the PTI will end the PPP's misrule in Sindh. "PTI is the name of a thought. We will set the foundation of a new, sovereign and dignified Pakistan," he said before appealing to the people for their electoral support in the 2018 general elections.
"The people of Sindh will now have to decide which Pakistan and which Sindh they want to live in." Accusing the PPP and its provincial government of being involved in rampant corruption, Qureshi alleged that a majority of the government contracts are decided prior to tendering against commission. "Is there a single project funded by the public’s money in which the province's rulers don't take commission from the contractor?" he asked.

The PTI's vice-chairperson also blamed PPP's minority wing leaders for deceiving the minority community in Sindh. He said the people elected on the minority's vote have forsaken their supporters. "They only talk about the minority's issues in the Sindh Assembly but don't pursue matters with the government for practical resolution."
Qureshi also found fault with PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's speeches delivered through hologram technology. "They can't even dare go among the people." He expressed his dismay over what he described as poor state of health and education facilities in Tharparkar and blamed the district's elected representatives for stealing wheat meant for subsidised distribution among the people.
"Are the reverse osmosis plants installed by spending tens of billions of rupees in Tharparkar providing clean drinking water to the people?" he asked to a resounding reply in negative by the people.
PTI's provincial leader Haleem Adil Shaikh said if elected, the PTI's Sindh government will hold responsible the people who stole the wheat. "We will construct a jail in Tharparkar which we will fill with the thieves and corrupt people of Pakistan."
