Intercultural Bonds: Pakistan urges UN to spread tolerance

            Pakistan has urged the UN to step up its worldwide efforts to promote tolerance and intercultural understanding in a bid to overcome disagreements between societies, religions and cultures. “Freedom of expression should not be misused to insult religions and create misunderstanding among various cultures and civilizations,” Mian Jehangir Iqbal, a Pakistani delegate, told the Committee on Information – the intergovernmental body charged with reviewing progress in the field of UN public information.
