Upgrading Sport Facilities: ‘Hockey stadium to be ready by May’

PESHAWAR: President Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Hockey Association Captain Tariq Hayat on Thursday said that the installation of new turf imported from Korea at Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium would be completed by May. He was briefing journalists during his visit to inspect developmental work at the stadium including construction of dressing rooms for the players, two media rooms, enhancement of the total capacity from 12,000 to 14,000 spectators, sprinkling systems and installation of seating in the fence area with a covered fiber-class roof top. He also demanded the government to expedite work on the changing of turf at Qazi Mohib Hockey Stadium Bannu besides updating the same facilities at Mardan and Swat Hockey Stadiums.
