International Law student at the University of Houston and avid fashion follower, Shaiyanne Memon decodes her style. From the styles she loves, to the silhouettes she avoids, she shares it all

Understanding your body is the key to looking good and a trait found amongst all impeccably dressed fashionistas. While people shy away from talking about their bodies, these brave souls explain how they work their anatomies to their advantage

How would you describe your body type?

I have a petite body frame with shorter proportions.

Has your body type changed over the last five years?

Absolutely! I gain weight really fast now so I have to be extremely careful and watch what I eat, which is very difficult.

How has your style changed over the years?

I try sticking to the upcoming trends but also try not to experiment too much because every style doesn’t suit every body structure.

In your opinion what is your most troublesome area?

My lower body has been my most infuriating problem!

How do you dress your body according to your body type?

I have narrow shoulders so a cute off shoulder top and ripped jeans would do! I also opt for high waisted pants mostly because they elongate my figure.

In your opinion what is the biggest mistake a person can make while dressing here?

I feel like when people wear ill-fitted clothes or clothes that are too tight, that in my opinion is a big no no.

Which silhouettes suit your body the most?

Loose and flared mid length dresses are my favourite because they accentuate my upper body.

What is the one piece of clothing that you shy away from wearing and why?

Pencil skirts and bodycon dresses for sure!
