Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Italy on Monday. The couple announced their nuptials on social media saying, “Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share this wonderful news with you. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans and well-wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey."

Other than the chemistry of this adorable couple, we could not stop drooling over Anushka Sharma's style, hair and makeup for her wedding functions. In true millennial fashion, this bride was unconventional, rebellious, real, raw but admirably poised. As compiled from Pinkvilla, here are reasons why the Bollywood beauty will be #bridegoals for the next few years to come.

She ditched the customary pastel gown for a sari on her engagement

Brides typically opt for pastel shades or gowns for their engagement parties. Anushka, however, went the sari route and channelled the old world retro charm, clad in stunning oxblood velvet embroidered one by Indian designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

The PK star accessorised the sari with a chunky and bold gold choker and matching gold earrings. The velvet blouse had a scoop neck that added a hint of sexy and her centre-parted hair rounded up the look perfectly.

The Boho bride

For the mehendi, Anushka opted for a super bright and vibrant floral, raw silk blouse along with a multicolored orange and pink skirt. The starlet, who otherwise has limp and short hair, resorted to extensions and kept them long and sleek, once again with a straight centre parting.

The not-so-OTT mehendi designs

Instead of having her mehendi applied all the way from her fingertips to the elbows, the Jab Tak Hai Jaan actor kept it chill and simple. You go girl!

The anti- red wedding lehenga

For her wedding, Anushka ditched the tradition red bridal and went for a pastel lehenga instead. This was a great idea as the light pink outfit gelled in perfectly against the wedding decor. The Sabyasachi lehenga had floral embellishments all over it and to match that, Anushka added flowers to her hairdo as well.

The no-makeup makeup look

While most brides are caked with layers and layers of makeup on their big days, Anushka kept things to a minimal. The superstar went for an au natural, no-makeup-makeup look for the main day which makes a lot of sense since brides are already decked up with layers of jewellery and a heavy outfit. There really is no need for the makeup to be ultra-glam too. The 2018 bride is all about keeping things easy and breezy.
