SBI-organised conference to highlight Pakistan’s investment potential

KARACHI:
The CPEC Business Opportunities Conference is being organised by the Sindh Board of Investment (SBI) and Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company on December 12 at a local hotel in Karachi.

The event is being organised in association with the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform, as well as the Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) and the Karachi Business Forum.

The conference will highlight investment opportunities for Chinese companies in Pakistan, as well as the government’s role in facilitating these projects. The conference will also provide a platform for business leaders from both countries to interact and network and will also provide a key opportunity to inform potential Chinese investors of the investment potential of Pakistan, with the aim of developing linkages with key business leaders, as well as government officials in Pakistan.

CPEC toll income — myth and reality


A delegation of over 80 representatives from various Chinese companies will be attending the event to explore opportunities for their companies to establish a presence in Pakistan. Participating companies from China are working in a host of sectors including real estate development, electrical engineering and equipment, agricultural machinery, automobile and auto parts manufacturing, textiles, e-commerce, minerals and a host of other fields.

Key speakers attending the event include Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Planning, Development and Reform, Shoaib Siddiqui, Secretary, Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform, Naheed Memon, Chairperson of the Sindh Board of Investment and several other dignitaries.
