KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) questioned veteran pacer Mohammad Sami over his alleged involvement in a spot-fixing scandal in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

Sami is representing Rajshahi Kings in the tournament, where he is currently the franchise’s most successful bowler with 11 wickets in nine games at an impressive average of 21.36 with strike-rate of 25.2.

Sharjeel seeks justice from PM Khaqan Abbasi

A board official confirmed to The Express Tribune on Friday that the 36-year-old has been asked to return and report to the PCB headquarter for further investigations.

However, no further action is taken against the pacer yet. Sami is free to continue playing cricket and is set to feature in the upcoming T10 league as well.

Sami has not played for Pakistan since 2016 World T20, and is now limited to playing in domestic cricket and T20 leagues.

Khalid Latif banned for five years in PSL spot fixing case

The Karachi-born pacer has represented Pakistan in 36 Tests, 87 ODIs and 13 T20Is, where he claimed 227 wickets.

If proven, the development will be a major blow for Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Islamabad United, who will lose their third player after Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif in two seasons for their alleged involvement in suspicious activities.
