Police said the child was on his way home from school when unidentified armed men kidnapped him
KARACHI:
A school going child of a businessman was abducted by kidnappers on Wednesday.
Five-year-old was kidnapped from 26th Street in Defence Housing Authority within the limits of the Sahil police station.
Police officials said the child, along with his mother, was on his way home from school when unidentified armed men kidnapped him, adding that the armed kidnappers were on a motorcycle while their accomplices were in a car as backup.
Two absconders killed as police, kidnappers exchange fire in Karachi
Officials said that the abducted boy's father is a businessman and runs a shop in Saddar. There are some developments in the case, however, the progress cannot be shared as it could affect the investigation, police said.
Meanwhile, Inspector-General of Police Allah Dino Khowaja took notice of the incident and sought separate reports from Criminal Investigation Agency chief DIG Saqib Ismail Memon and South Zone police chief DIG Azad Khan and ordered a proper inquiry over the case.
