Miranshah visit: Parliamentarians praise army’s role for restoring peace in FATA

MPAs briefed about the Pak-Afghan border security measures, socio-economic projects undertaken for tribal people

A parliamentary delegation visited Miranshah, North Waziristan Agency (NWA) on Wednesday and lauded armed forces’ role for restoring peace in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), a statement issued by the military’s media wing said.

The delegation, comprising members of Standing Committee on Defence from both lower and upper houses of parliament, was briefed about the ongoing military operations in the mountainous region.



According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the visiting MPAs were briefed about the Pak-Afghan border security measures and socio-economic projects undertaken for the tribal people.

Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, or Elimination of Discord, was launched in February after a sharp uptick in terrorist attacks in the country.
