Local residents protested against a local landlord after he refused to hand over an alleged murderer to the police. Ghareebabad residents told reporters that on April 17, Muhammad Mushtaq went to buy animals along with accused Akhtar alias ‘Akhtari’. They said that Akhtar stole Rs200,000 from Mustaq and then shot him. The villagers said that the accused also stole Mushtaq’s motorcycle. The widow and five children of the deceased were also among the protesters, who blamed a local landlord Malik Fazal Abbas for protecting the accused.
