LAHORE: Around 75,000 policemen will perform security duty as police have devised a security plan for the Eid Miladun Nabi. This was stated by Inspector General of Punjab Police Arif Nawaz on Friday.

The plan was prepared during a regional police officers conference through the video link at Central Police Officer Lahore. The IG Punjab directed officials that snipers should be deployed on rooftops and commandos in plainclothes should also be deployed to ensure the security of processions and mahafil to avoid any untoward incident.

Nawaz directed all RPOs and DPOs to ensure the activities of combing and intelligence-based operations in the vicinity of religious worship places and sensitive localities in their districts. He said that the supervision of these operations should be carried out by DPO personally.

Cooperation of other law enforcement agencies should ensure these operations so that anti-social element should be eliminated from the society, he added.
