Tax Relief: CM withdraws hike in water tariff

He said the decision of imposing additional charges has been withdrawn as people are already obligated to pay dues.

RAWALPINDI:
Chief Minister Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif, on Monday asked the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) to withdraw the recently imposed tariff.

He said that the decision of imposing additional charges has been withdrawn as people are already obligated to pay dues.

He has also ordered WASA not to further burden the consumers who are already hard pressed due to soaring inflation.

WASA increased the water tariff for commercial and domestic consumers by 250 and 150 per cent respectively.
