ABBOTTABAD: Former Olympic hockey player and Abbottabad Hockey Association President Naeem Akhtar on Wednesday accused the former secretary of K-P Hockey Association of corruption. “The ex-secretary of K-P Hockey Association Zahir Shah has ruined the hockey in the province. Shah should disclose where he had spent the funds in the last 30 years,” Akhtar told a press conference in Abbottabad. Akhtar, member of ad-hoc selection committee, flanked by district hockey officials and players said that a particular group was running the affairs of the sport in K-P for past three decades. The said group, Akhtar said, had badly managed the sport and hockey, which was once a famous game in the province, was now near extinction.
