Rescue-1122 observed international day in memory of victims of road accidents in Faisalabad.
In this regard, a walk to create awareness among the masses road safety was held which started from GTS Chowk and concluded at Hilal-e-Ahmer Chowk. Rescue 1122 DO emergency led the walk which was attended by people from different walks of life.
1,400 new emergency staff join Rescue 1122
The participants were carrying banners and placards about road safety measures.
On the occasion, DO emergency highlighted the importance of road safety and said that thousands of people lost their lives or sustain injuries every year due to careless driving.
Rescue 1122 prepares to meet floods
He said that 20,560 road accidents were reported in 10 months of the current year in which most of the people suffered severe injuries only due to not wearing helmets. He added that Rescue 1122 had provided emergency services to 176,276 victims of road accidents from September-2006 to onwards in Faisalabad District.
