COAS appoints Lt Gen Anwar Hyder as Col Commandant Military Police Corps

Also attends funeral prayers of army's martyred officer, Major Ishaq

Army chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Military Police Training Centre and installed Lt General Anwar Ali Hyder, Adjutant General of Pakistan Army as the Colonel Commandant of Military Police Corps.

Gen Qamar also visited Headquarters Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (South) and Defence Services Guard (DSG) Centre, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).


He was briefed about operational preparedness of the FC, progress of ongoing operations, capacity building and training and administration of the DSG.

Earlier in the day, the COAS visited Dera Ismail Khan and attended the funeral prayers of army's martyred officer, Major Ishaq. He paid rich tribute to the martyr and his family for their supreme sacrifice.

The 28-year-old major embraced martyrdom as terrorists opened fire on the troops during a search operation in DI Khan.
