LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Punjab on Saturday arrested two men on charges of corruption and human trafficking, including a government official allegedly caught receiving a bribe.

An FIA raiding team in Multan caught Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) lines superintendent Wasim Iqbal reportedly in the act of getting a bribe from a petrol pump owner, Elahi Bux.

Bux had tipped off the FIA team about Iqbal’s arrival to collect the bribe. A private travel and tour agency’s owner, Gulzar Ahmed, was arrested in Hafizabad on charges of human trafficking.

FIA officials said they had siezed 14 passports from Ahmed.
