Sarangi tunes reverberate in capital

Serena Hotels hosted a star-studded evening to announce the winners of photography and a music competition. Both the photography competition and Sarangi — the music competition — are part of the hotel’s Cultural Diplomacy Initiative. “Serena continues to inspire a culture of peace and hope,” Serena Hotels CEO Aziz Boolani said. A jury of Ali Noor of Noori, music director Nizar Lalani and Sarmad Ghafoor choose Sannan Mehboob from Swat, Ahad John and Band from Faisalabad and Gohar Nayab Band from Faisalabad. The judges of the photography competition, Mobeen Ansari, Syed Mehdi Bukhari and Wajahat Malik, selected Minhaj Ahmad and Sakina Hassan from Karachi.
