Rasta, an regarding electronic licensing, testing and ticketing system will be launched by the City Traffic Police (CTP) for the first time in the country next week. The software will be according to international standards.

The application was developed by Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to provide smart solutions for the general public's traffic related problems and queries.
The summaries had been sent to departments and were related to e-licensing, testing and the ticketing system, whereas the CTP had already put all necessary measures to implement the electronic system, said Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rai Ejaz on Tuesday.

The introduction of the e-ticket, meanwhile, would discontinue old tickets issued by the post office and eliminate the chances of forgery or hoax, he said.
The CTP had also written to the Punjab Traffic DIG and asked the officer to select banks for e-ticketing and ensure the availability of the system at all branches.
