UVAS ranked among top 10 by HEC
The university moved up to seventh and eighth for men’s and women’s sports

The Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad ranked the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore among the top 10 universities, in terms of sports, for the year 2015-16.
UVAS was ranked in seventh position for men’s sports and eighth for women’s sports. HEC ranked the universities on the basis of overall results of intervarsity sports championships for 2015-16. The events spread over 30 categories of sports for men and 24 for women. UVAS got 682 points in men’s sports among 95 universities and 507 points in women’s sports among 47 universities of Pakistan.
In HEC’s previous sports ranking, UVAS secured 10th position in both men and women’s sports. In the latest ranking, the university improved three positions to advance to seventh in men’s sports and eighth in women’s sports.
UVAS ranked among top Asian universities
UVAS has already been ranked by the HEC among top 10 universities of Pakistan in overall ranking. It was positioned among the 301-350 top Asian Universities, as per QS Asia University Ranking 2018.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha congratulated the faculty, staff and students on this achievement. He said that the university’s motto of "Provoking Potentials, Producing Professionals’ had fast moved the varsity towards a multi-level education and skill development institution. He said this was made possible by using knowledge, resources and skills for human resource development. He hoped the university would continue its journey of progress and development in the future.
