ISLAMABAD: The 285-kilometres stretch of the Hakla-Dera Ismail Khan Expressway of the national highway is expected to completed by the end of next year, officials say. An official of National Highway Authority (NHA) said on Sunday that the project, which is part of the Western Route of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), will cost an estimated Rs129 billion to complete. To ensure timely completion of the project the expressway has been divided into five sections, the official explained, adding that one section of the project starts from Yarik and ends at Rehmani Khail. With the National Logistics Cell (NLC) awarded the contract for the project, a quarter of the project has already been built at a cost of Rs13.26 billion. He added that the 65 km stretch under Phase II of the project, which starts from Rehmani Khail and ends near Mianwali.
