Raiwind congregation delays PML-N power show

LAHORE: The grand power show planned by the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz on November 12 in Abbottabad is likely to be delayed, well-placed party sources told The Express Tribune.

Sources revealed that the PML-N was likely to hold a political gathering by the end of November in Abbottabad instead of November 12. They said the reason for the delay was the second phase of Raiwind Ijetama that will conclude on November 12.

They said that a number PML-N leaders were also attending the Raiwind congregation.

“The Ruling party had planned to hold political power shows all across the country in every three weeks,” Senator Mushahid Ullah Khan said.

He said: “The PML-N will hold a power show in Peshawar as well,” adding, “The Abbottabad rally can however not be termed as a mass contact campaign for general elections.”

He said this was not the time for mass contact drives for general elections.

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was also expected to leave for a few days to London to attend to his ailing wife after his next court hearing. Mushahid said, adding his wife was seriously ill so he might leave but the actual plan of Sharif was to stay in Pakistan for at least two weeks.
