‘Marble City’ to come online in Mohmand

Investors urged to invest heavily in the special zone

Mohmand marble city will be made functional at the end of this year at a cost of Rs2.6 billion and will be one of nine major projects within the ambit of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, Frontier Corps (FC) Sector Commander Brigadier Arshad Taufeeq said while addressing a Jirga in Michni, Mohmand Agency on Friday.

Arshad further said that 90% of the development work has been completed including the boundary wall, nine security posts, power grid station, water supply infrastructure and roads, while urging investors to invest heavily in the specially designated zone.

No perks, privileges for Utman tribes in Mohmand

FATA Development Authority (FDA) Director Technical Mohammad Iqbal khan said the ultimate plan is to connect the marble city with Pak-Afghan Expressway and a motorway. A waste management facility will also be established in the area, he added.


He further said that the marble city has been constructed on 353 acres of land, adding there will be 295 industrial plots in the city with 49 plots reserved for constructing marble factories at comparatively cheaper rates to boost production activities in the area.

He informed that there are 70,000 tons of marble reserves in Mohmand agency.
