18 suspects held; arms, drugs, recovered

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested 18 outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered nine 30 bore pistols, 44 bore rifle, 7mm rifle  12 bore rifle, fake currency, narcotics and looted items from their possession, a police spokesman said.

He said that Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Imran Haider from Secretariat police station arrested a proclaimed offender Razaq wanted by Secretariat, Shalimar police stations of Islamabad and City Police Station Gujranwala.

ASI Saif Ullah from Kohsar police station arrested three persons Safeer, Temur Khursheed and Allah Dad for depositing fake currency in a bank. Sub-Inspector Umer Hyat and ASIs Muhammad Haneef and Shahid Zaman arrested four persons Faisal, Ali Raza, Mudassir and Qaisar for having one 30 bore pistol each.

ASI Muhamamd Shakeel from CIA police arrested a mobile thief Zafar Iqbal while ASI Muhammad Ramzan from Industrial area police arrested Mira Jan for having 30 bore pistol and ammunition. Sub-Inspector Muhammad Ashraf from Shehzad town police station arrested Hassan for having 150 grammes heroin while Sub-Inspector Ghulam Sarwar recovered 30 bore pistol from an accused Khuram Shehzad. ASI Mehdi from Nilore police station arrested Zafar for having 30 bore pistol. ASI Raza Muhammad from Koral police arrested a dacoit Ghulam Abbass besides recovery of 30 bore pistol from him while Sub-Inspector Sarfraz Ahmed arrested two dacoits Ghulam Abass and Mustajab.

Sub-Inspector Zulfiqar Ahmed from Sihala police arrested two thieves Qamar Zia, Irshad and recovered stolen item from their possession. ASI Muhammad Asif from Loi Bher police arrested Ashafq, Adnan and Fakhar Abass for having 44 bore rifle, 7 MM rifle and 30 bore pistol respectively.

Cases have been registered against these persons and further investigation is underway from them. SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani has appreciated this overall performance and directed all police officials for effective policing measures in the city.
