Father kills son, daughter and himself
Mehmood’s two wives often fought with him over the children, police said.

A father killed his minor son and daughter and later committed suicide on Friday afternoon.
According to police officials, Sargodha’s 49-T Model Colony resident Tariq Mehmood shot his son Hasan Tariq and daughter Ayena Tariq in the head and killed them instantly.
Mehmood later shot himself and died, while in the hospital.
Locals in the area said that Mehmood had two wives, Safina and Mahnoor and that his wives often quarreled among themselves.
Safina’s nine-year-old daughter Ayena Tariq and Mahnoor’s seven-year-old son Hasan often squabbled while playing together and the children’s mothers fought with Mehmood over this.
“The neighbours told us that the women often yelled at each other’s children and beat them,” said Cantt Police Investigation Officer Shaukat Hayaat Khan.
“Mehmood ended up killing the children and himself over it,” he said.
Cantt Police Station House Officer (SHO) Khalid Mehmood said that Hasan and Ayena were enrolled in class three and four at the local government school.
“The children’s teacher said that they both often came to school sporting bruises,” he said.
The bodies of both children have been were sent to DHQ hospital Sargodha for an autopsy.
Mehmood was initially sent to the hospital for treatment but died due to heart failure.
