LAHORE:
In recent months, some elements were actively blaming the health department to make issues controversial. This was expressed by Punjab Health Managers Association General Secretary Dr Haq Nawaz Bharwana while addressing a meeting of the association in Lahore.

Dr Bharwana said that the increasing load on tertiary healthcare facilities demanded that the patients and their attendants utilise and get benefit of services being offered in tertiary care hospitals. He said that the recent incident at Ganga Ram Hospital was also exploited by a few, as facts were not properly exposed.

“The truth is that the patient went to the canteen on his own, without the consent and advice of consultants, and thus suffered. Now the situation is that the punishment is being given to the doctors, hospital management and health department despite them not being involved,” he said.
