His body was sent to his native village Tando Allah Yar in Sindh for burial, AIOU said on Thursday.
Currently, on study-leave for Phd, Dr Lal had contracted dengue virus and was treated in a local hospital but could not survive.
During his seven-year long attachment with AIOU, he showed high commitment and dedication in teaching the students of agriculture sciences, said Vice Chancellor Dr Shahid Siddiqui. Addressing the condolence ceremony on Thursday at the AIOU's main campus, the VC said the people working at AIOU were like a family. Even the members of minority community get equal importance and care from collegues, he noted.
The ceremony arranged by the Academic Ataff Association (ASA) was also addressed among others by Dean Sciences Dr Naghmana Rashid and ASA President Dr Fazalur Rehman.
