Lyari gang war commander killed in Karachi encounter
Two of his accomplices manage to escape under the cover of fire

As a part of the continuing Karachi operation, Sindh Rangers claimed on Thursday to have killed notorious Lyari commander Ghafoor 'Chohtoo' during an intelligence-based raid in Malir's Memon Goth area.
Rangers spokesperson said they faced heavy retaliatory fire from the gangsters, adding that one of the gangsters was killed while two of his accomplices managed to escape under the cover of fire.
While a large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the site, body of the deceased was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

'Chohtoo was a operational commander of a criminal gang in Malir, believed to be a close aide of Lyari kingpins, Rehman Dakait and Baba Ladla.
He was also said to have been involved in at lease 20 cases, including the killing of three foreigners in Hub along with attacks on law enforcement agencies, extortion and kidnapping for ransom.
