At least 12 students were injured as two groups clashed at Karachi University on Wednesday.
The fight broke out in the arts lobby and students attacked each other with metal and wooden sticks.
According to witnesses, they were supporters of the Peoples Student Federation and the Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba.
They also said that, despite being present at the campus, Rangers and security personnel did not try to stop the violence.
All classes and activities were suspended as a result of the clash.
The Mobina Town police said that around a dozen students from both sides were injured and were taken to Jinnah hospital.
They have not registered a case as a complaint has not been made yet.
