‘Govt setting up system to distribute Zakat easily’
New mechanism would ensure early provision of financial assistance to deserving families, said minister

Provincial Minister for Zakat and Ushr Naghma Mushtaq has said the government was making a mechanism to distribute Zakat in an easy way.

She said the new mechanism would ensure early provision of financial assistance to deserving families.
“I am also struggling hard to get Zakat funds enhanced,” she said. The provincial minister expressed these views in a meeting held at Circuit House, Multan.
She added that she would manage restoration of Zakat Committee in Cholistan and would contact the chief minister for enhancing Zakat funds. The minister maintained it was the top priority of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government to resolve problems of the poor.

She also informed that Zakat allowance would be restored soon so that deserving people could utilise the fund as per their needs. Zakat and Ushr Secretary Hassan Iqbal said that reforms were being introduced in the department to offer maximum assistance to the poor. On the occasion, chairpersons of Zakat committees of South Punjab, including Rao Saadat Ali, Muhammad Shafi Khan, Muhammad Iqbal, Sanaur Rehman, Abdul Majeed and others were also present.
