22 suspects detained by law enforcers

Cases have been registered, while further investigation is under way

KARACHI: Law enforcement agencies claimed to have arrested on Tuesday at least 22 suspects allegedly involved in various cases of crime.
The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Criminal Investigation Agency claimed to have busted a gang of criminals involved in several cases of crime. The suspects, identified as Ali Dost Mugheri, Wazir Ali Mugheri, Zahid Mugheri, Amir Gabbar and Naseer Pappu, were allegedly involved in a dozen of cases of murder, robberies and other crime, said SIU chief SSP Tariq Dharejo.

He added that the police recovered four pistols and two hand grenades from their possession. The suspects had allegedly killed a citizen, Saeed Khan, at Daud Chowrangi after he offered resistance in a robbery bid while he was on his way home after withdrawing cash from a bank, said SSP Dharejo.
Cases against the suspects have been registered, while further investigation is under way.

Police yet to arrest driver who ran over woman at Seaview

Mobina Town police claimed to have investigated the murder case of a young man, Tauqeer, and arrested his friends, who allegedly murdered him. District Malir SSP Rao Anwar said that the victim was kidnapped by the accused, Arif Dasti, and his comrades. He added that the suspects tried to change the nature of the incident by showing his killing in a robbery bid.
“Arif managed to escape but the police have arrested his brother, Kashif Dasti, and two of his friends, Daniyal and Zohaib,” said SSP Anwar. He explained that the suspects kidnapped Tauqeer from his home near Super Highway and killed him in Mobina Town police’s jurisdiction. “Arif suspected that Tauqeer had illicit relations with his sister, hence he decided to kill him,” alleged the SSP. A case has been registered, while further investigation is under way.

Ibrahim Hyderi police claimed to have arrested three suspects for killing their friend. The suspects were identified as Wasem alias Bakri, Jafar Hussain and Asif Masih. Police said that the suspects had killed their friend, Zeeshan Mughal over a monetary dispute. The suspects had previously been involved in various cases of crime, said police.
Rangers claimed to have arrested at least 11 suspects during ongoing raids and operations in different parts of the city. According to the Rangers spokesperson, a suspect, identified as Asif alias Pakora, affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement - London, was arrested during a raid in the Eidgah area. The suspect was involved in at least 11 cases of murders.

Rangers to guard hearing against LHCBA Multan president

Three suspects belonging to a Lyari-based gang, identified as Salman, Kabir and Farooq, were arrested during separate raids in Kalakot, Darakhshan and Gadap Town. The Rangers spokesperson said that the suspects arrested were involved in targeted killing, arms smuggling and drug peddling. Six more suspects, allegedly involved in street crime and robberies, were arrested during raids in Baghdadi, Kalri, Gadap Town and Korangi areas.
