LRBT organises festival on World Sight Day

KARACHI:
The Layton Rahmatulla Benevolent Trust (LRBT) celebrated World Sight Day by organising a family festival, aimed at brightening up the lives of those lost in the darkness.
The event took place at the Moin Khan Cricket Stadium, located in the Defence Housing Authority Phase VIII, which kicked off at 7am and continued till 1pm.

KUJ organises family festival

Those who came in the morning were served breakfast, including halwa puri while other colourful activities were also set up. The activities included cycling, running, bicycling and vintage car rides, which amused the visitors and made their morning more colourful.
Children, along with their parents enjoyed all activities at the event. Ayaz, a parent, told The Express Tribune that on Sundays, families usually prefer going to amusement parks or the beach but this event organised by LRBT made his family's Sunday very different and enjoyable.

He added that Karachi lacks picnic spots hence most families resort to going to beaches and parks. He was thankful to LRBT for organising such a refreshing event.

The vintage car show and sports bicycles mesmerised the youth present at the festival. People enjoyed the day and took multiple photos with the motorcyclists and vintage cars.
"We can celebrate such festivals with people who are differently-abled in order to make them feel important," a visually impaired senior citizen said.
