Admin warns against sale of toy guns

There is no punitive section in penal code for selling such toys

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad administration has directed the shopkeepers of the city to stop selling toy guns to children as it could prove fatal for them.

According to official sources, keeping in view the sensitivity of the matter, the administration has verbally directed the shop keepers not to sell such items to the children as same can lead to any untoward incident.

In this regard, directions have been passed on to all zonal superintendents of police of Islamabad to further instruct their subordinates to initiate action against the violators.

A notification regarding imposition of ban will also be issued by the district administration. After issuance of notification, further action under section 188 of PPC will be initiated against the violators in accordance with law.

However, according to official sources, there is no punitive section available in Pakistan Penal Code or any other law for selling of toy guns and selling of these toys is still not an offence under the law.
