ISLAMABAD: A 17-year-old boy, walking on a railway track wearing headphones, was hit by a train and killed in Rawalpindi early Friday morning.

Rescue officials told The Express Tribune that the victim, Faiz Ali, was walking on the railway track near GT Road in Mandra town, wearing headphones, oblivious to the train approaching from the back.

He was hit by the train and killed on the spot.

Rescue 1122 officials shifted the body to a rural health centre in Mandra. The incident took place shortly before 8am this morning.

On Thursday, October 12, a man lost his legs on a rail track while taking a selfie in the precincts of Jaranwala police station.

A police official said that Shahid Hussain, a resident of Mohallah Islampura, was taking a selfie at railway track when he accidentally slipped and fell on the line. In the meantime, a fast approaching train ran over and chopped off his both legs, the official added.

In another incident, a young man was crushed to death in a road accident in Jaranwala police station limits. A police official said that a speedy tractor trolley hit a motorcycle rickshaw near Chak No 237-GB killing Muneer on the spot.
