KARACHI:

A Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) activist and two other men were gunned down in a drive-by shooting on Tuesday.

The victim, 24-year-old Amir Ahmed, son of Aslam Ali, was killed near Jewelers Market, Korangi, said the Awami Colony police. He lived in Sector 5-C, Landhi. It was the usual modus operandi - two men on a motorcycle shot at them before taking off. Amir was shot at least four times. Jinnah hospital staff performed the autopsy. The MQM-H’s Shamshad Ghauri confirmed that the victim was an active party worker.  In the same jurisdiction, a young man’s body was found in the bushes near the Landhi Degree College in Korangi No. 6. He had been shot multiple times. This was was also taken to Jinnah hospital. Separately, the Gulbahar police found the body of an elderly man near Lasbella Bridge. He appeared to be in his 50s and was shot twice but no empty shells were found at the crime scene, which suggested that his body was thrown over the bridge. Abbasi Shaheed Hospital completed the medico-legal formalities and sent the body to the Edhi Morgue.
