Cricket: Jayawardene wants D/L reviewed

Jayawardene wants a review of the Duckworth-Lewis system for rain-truncated matches.

KOCHI:
Sri Lanka batsman Mahela Jayawardene wants a review of the Duckworth-Lewis system for rain-truncated matches.

He said that it was time to see if it was good enough to be used in Twenty20 matches. “It has to be reviewed,” said Jayawardene. “To my knowledge, they do take an average score to make that formula. I think it is somewhere around 230 or 240 for one-dayers. So once you take an average score like that and apply that in Twenty20s, the whole thing is different.”
