SARGODHA: The first-ever incinerator had been installed at Faisalabad Road to address the health concerns voiced by the locals regarding improper disposal of hazardous hospital waste.

The new burning unit would dispose of 750-kg hazardous medical waste of all private and public sector hospitals daily. Deputy Commissioner Liaqat Ali Chatha said there was dire need for properly disposing of medical waste. He directed the officials to instruct all hospitals, clinics and laboratories to adopt scientific methods for disposing of the hospital waste.
