Salaries of six SHOs stopped by court

Court repeatedly summoned the cops but they failed to show up

FAISALABAD: Additional District and Sessions Judge Azfar Sultan Babar has stopped payment of salaries to six station house officers (SHOs) over non-compliance of court orders in Faisalabad on Thursday.

Officials said SHOs of Saddar, Civil Lines, D-Type Colony, Mansoorabad, Samanabad and Thikriwala police stations were repeatedly summoned in different cases pending before the court but the said police officers failed to comply with the orders.

Taking serious notice, the judge issued orders to stop payment of salaries to the SHOs till next order. The court also issued show-cause notices to the said police officers and directed them to ensure their presence before the court on October 4.

Meanwhile, the Anti-Corruption Established registered a corruption case against 13 former registrars of the land record centre, revenue department on charge of misappropriation in the official record. A spokesman for the anti-corruption establishment said that Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani had received a number of complaints against misappropriation in the land registry record and an inquiry was conducted in this regard.

Accountability : 12 police officers awarded punishment 

During the course, it transpired that 13 registrars were found guilty of embezzling 7,000 registries. The anti-corruption officials registered a case against 13 revenue officials, including Shahid Abbas, Rana Muhammad Idrees, Liaqat Ali, Muhammad Ameen, Muhammad Rafi, Amir Raza Kazmi, Haidar Ali, Khadim Hussain, Mian Muhammad Akram, Zahid Majeed, Akmal Shah, Javaid Iqbal and Azhar Iftikhar.
