Two held during biometric verification

Police had launched search operations in different areas and conducted biometric of several people

BAHAWALPUR: Two suspects were arrested by police during search operations in connection with Muharram-ul-Haram security arrangements from different areas of Bahawalpur District.



An official said that following the instructions received by the home department, the police launched search operations in different areas and conducted biometric of several people. He added, “During the verification process, two suspects were taken into custody and were shifted to police station for interrogation.”

Meanwhile, the district management said that more than 1,000 police personnel were deployed on security duty during Ashura in the district.Deputy Commissioner Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal inspected routes being used for passage of processions being taken out in connection with Ashura. The district management officials said the deputy commissioner inspected routes in Janowala, Ahmedpur Sharqia and other areas.
