The PM said this while handing over a dossier, documenting India's human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir, to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
During the meeting, the PM said “There is a need to appoint a special envoy on Kashmir, as India has closed all doors on any dialogue.”
US-Pakistan relationship not defined by Afghanistan: PM Abbasi
Abbasi also briefed the UN Secretary General about ceasefire violations by Indian security forces along the Line of Control, saying “There have been around 600 violations this year alone.” He also pointed that today also four Pakistanis have been martyred by Indian firing.
Abbasi and Guterres also discussed the situation in Afghanistan and agreed on the need for a negotiated settlement to bring lasting peace in Afghanistan. The PM also called for the expansion of UNMOGIP.
The UN Secretary General told the premier that Pakistan was very dear to his heart and said he had visited the country many times.
PM denies saying Kabul attackers ‘crossed over from Pakistan’
The UN Secretary General said, “I myself have witnessed Pakistan's counter-terrorism operations and I am great admirer of Pakistan's efforts in this regard.” He added that he was also a great admirer of Pakistan's democratic consolidation.
He also conveyed the gratitude of the United Nations for Pakistan in its peacekeeping efforts.
