ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Thursday adjourned hearing of Maulana Azam Tariq murder case till September 28. The main accused in the case, Sibtian Kazmi, was produced before ATC Judge Shahrukh Arjam under fool proof security arrangements. During hearing, the counsel for the plaintiff requested the court to grant further time for arguments in the case regarding the acquittal of accused from the murder charges. The court accepted the request and adjourned hearing of the case till September 28. It may be mentioned here that the accused’s counsel Zulifqar Naqvi had lodged a petition seeking acquittal of his client from the case. Chief of the Millat-i-Islamia MNA Maulana Azam Tariq was assassinated by unidentified gunmen in 2003 along with four others in jurisdiction of Golra police. The Federal Investigation Agency had arrested Kazmi from Benazir Bhutto International Airport.
